Must one have
Their head up their ass
In order to send mounted
Police trotting into a peaceful,
Shoulder to shoulder crowd
Singing Oh Canada,
Some praying,

Beneath our feet
Grinding, crumbling, groaning,
Plates sliding, slipping, sticking,
Above, governments confused,

With good, bad, no intentions,
The sane among us sit in the sun
Sipping tea and coffee resigned
To the fact that sooner or later
Something has to give.
