How could the German population,
The Jewish community,
Sit idly by and not realize
What the Nazis were planning
And doing what they did,
Wherever you live look in a mirror,
Do you see an idler
Or do really understand
What your government is scheming,
Planning and doing to you today,
Are you simply going along for the ride
Hoping to get off on the right side,
Where and how will you fit in,
In future conversations.

Beneath our feet
Grinding, crumbling, groaning,
Plates sliding, slipping, sticking,
Above, governments confused,
Deceiving, plotting, scheming,
With good, bad, no intentions,
The sane among us sit in the sun
Sipping tea and coffee resigned
To the fact that sooner or later
Something has to give.

Would you be surprised

Would you be alarmed
Or just walk and nod,
If you visited the temples
And found out the truth
