Finds us treading water
Between Davos and BRICS,
Hegemony to hegemony
Isn’t it sweet
If they don’t blow up
The planet which side
Eats defeat,
Stuck in the middle
Like an old Stealers Wheel
Or will we end up
Like an old Wainwright deal.

Special people brought over
A surprise bag and in it was
A Chocolate Seal Point - Seal
Point Lynx/Savannah cross -
Eight-week-old male kitten,
What do you think
What will you call it
The special people asked,
“Get Lost”, my wife said,
She wasn’t fond of cats,
The name Loki was chosen
And life with a cat in a
Surprise bag began,
Two months in and my wife
Loves Loki,
Conversations in an unknown
Mystic language with Loki
Make more sense than the EU
And western leaders banter,
Truth is, Loki is the best surprise
Gift we have ever received,
