Chaos
We thread our way
Through chaos,
Volcanoes, earthquakes,
Storms, floods, draughts,
Disease, illness, sorrow,
And of course the political
Lies, myths and illusions
Rolled into firmly packed
Balls presented as truth,
I suppose the old line,
It’s not what happens
To you but your reaction
To it that really matters,
Is worth keeping in mind,
Like when your neighbor
Identifying as Paul Bunyan
Butchers your backyard hedge,
Realize some people stumble
And become chaos,
It’s your choice whether
To keep threading your way
Or joining the clowns
In chaos.
