A rectangular area
Five miles wide
Twenty-five miles long,
Surrounded by military fencing
And guarded check point gates,
Monitored twenty-four seven
By intelligence and armed forces
With electronic surveillance devices,
Sniper stations at strategic points,
Water, food shipments, electricity
Controlled by forces outside the fence,
Imagine you and your family taken from
Your homes and property and dumped here
Along with over two million other people,
Complaint and protest met with rough
Military visits and water, food and
Electricity restricted or shut off,
How long would it take for
Hopelessness, resentment,
Anger and violence
To erupt.

Prancing with impunity
Governments and officials
Hiding, ignoring the ramifications
Of their actions from covid, their AZOV
Proxies, genocides and the Middle East disasters,
Some thinking that looking the other way
Camouflages them like pissants
In the asters.
