In the stormy nights
Of wind and rain
And sirens in the distance,
Knowing that there’s not much
One can do but
Savor each living moment,
Each instance,
Smiling into the darkness
Thinking about you sleeping,
Like all of those gone before,
Not knowing why
Some get all the harshness.
