Late Summer Storm
Hummingbirds bickering
At the feeder,
A doe and a fawn
Nibbling laurel leaves,
Robins looking for
An evening worm,
Raindrops exploding
In the pool like micro fountains,
The wind playing mystery music
With three sets of chimes,
Even in a late summer storm
The yard is peaceful,
Quiet in the commotion,
Then the news flashes,
Israel still bombing civilians
Zelensky begging for more missiles.
