Sometimes we’re so naïve,
So trusting, so carefree,
Like a vegetarian earthworm
Popping up through the lawn
Into the midst of a group
Of sweet looking birds,
Unaware that these psychopaths
Smiling and chirping
Will tear it to bits and pieces
Without flicking a feather.
