Fifty-Five Years Later
Although not wealthy
In dollars and bling
The woman I married
We still wear the rings,
It’s not what you have
In power and gold
It’s not the things in your
Hands you can hold,
But it is what you have
In your soul, heart, and mind
That makes you richer
Than many you find.

Dangerous World
Over the river
And up the hill
Down where waves
Kiss rocky spill,
What will an earthquake
Do to the place
Shake up the boulders
Or flood and erase.

Here Today Gone Tomorrow
No one knew for certain
Nobody knew for sure
One thing was apparent
The future looked obscure,
Some blamed it on cycles
Some said we needed war
Something was obvious
Trust had left the floor,
Some left the country
The old ones stayed behind
To die where they were born
Knowing freedom is in your mind

The Realization
Some have come to the realization
Of the attempt to program us
As echoes of the bell,
No dwelling outside
Of the ringing,
Tinkling not
Thinking.
